Acrylic Painting - Allison Watson - (3 hour sessions, 6 Classes)

Cost: $195 (cost covers all 6 sessions, not including materials)

This painting class is designed for painters of all levels. Students may paint landscape, still life floral, etc. The basics of painting will be covered: color theory and mixing, composition, painting techniques, value and use of materials. Each student will work at their own pace and will have personal attention in each class. All should complete 2 or more original paintings. There will be demonstrations of watercolor techniques, mixed media and use of materials, discussions of realism, impressionism and other styles of painting. Demonstrations will be in acrylic because of their speed and "forgiveness"

Allison Watson has taught painting classes and workshops for over 30 years and is a painter of southeastern landscapes.

  Titanium White
  Mars Black
  Cadmium Yellow, Medium
  Cadmium Red, Medium
  Phalo (Phthalocyanine) Blue
  Cobalt Blue
  Phalo (Phthalocyanine) Green
  Burnt Sienna (optionalBRUSHES - SURFACES - SUPPLIES
  Flats, Filberts, Brights, or Rounds in a variety of sizes from #3 to #12
  (brushes can be for watercolor, oil or acrylics)
  Large container for water
  A variety of canvases, panel or stretched (12x14, 8x10, 6x8 for example)
  Small sketch pad
  White styrofoam or china plates or disposable palettes
  Carry Box or bag for supplies
  Cotton Rags

  Small T-Square
  Masking Tape
  Charcoal and white chalk
  Pallette knife

Acrylic paint will be used in all demonstrations because of their versatility. Artists acrylic
paint can be used on a variety of surfaces and techniques.  Students may use other mediums if they prefer.  The basic supplies will be reviewed the first class so you may return unopened if necessary.
