William McMahan - Drawing with Ink Pen: Mark Making with Microns - Cost: $100.00 (not including materials)

Tuesdays, March 19, 26, April 2 and 9
10:00am - 12:00 noon
Cost:$100.00(not including materials)

This four week course will focus on how to transform pencil drawings into ink drawings. Participating artists will be introduced to mark-making techniques such as hatching, cross-hatching, stippling and sophisticated scribbling in order to push dark values and achieve greater three-dimensionality and showcase textures.

Conversely, we will also be practicing applying white charcoal and white gel pen when using toned paper in order to achieve a full spectrum of value. Artists are encouraged to bring sketches and drawings produced in graphite to practice inking, but this is not required.

The class is designed to benefit artists of all levels of experience, and step by step instructional handouts will be provided each week.
