Hal and Ted have been best friends for over 40 years, meeting and working together at a graphic design studio in 1974. Their spiritual and artistic journeys over the years are woven into their art, in both theme and vision. Although their styles differ, both express their hearts and emotions in every painting and drawing. From Hal’s introspective revelations to Ted’s capturing nature’s beauty, both strive to create “Art from the Inside Out."
TED HEAD BIO:
My love of drawing began when I could hold a crayon. A yellow-green one I remember distinctly. Not only did it have a pleasing color, it tasted pretty good too. Even as a child, my enjoyment of nature’s beauty was never ending. The intricacy and playfulness of colors, patterns, light and shadows has always fascinated me.
I paint with watercolors or oils, using several glazes to achieve rich dark and vibrant contrasts. My style is detailed and realistic, but I endeavor to “see” beyond the obvious to create a painting that surpasses the confines of a photograph. Shadows infused with color, reflections taking on surrounding hues...when successful, the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
I also enjoy painting painting pet portraits as a way to forever cherish their love and companionship.
HAL RADUGGE BIO:
I'm self-taught and consider myself an outsider artist. My art is about restlessness and regeneration, addiction and salvation, and the expression of the spiritual journey on a personal level.
I also love drawing pencil portraits.
I have worked in many mediums but have a special love of pen & ink and pencil drawings.
