Previous portrait workshop not a requirement. We will continue on this 2-day weekend workshop to develop our portraiture skills, concentrating on backgrounds, color harmony, and focal point. Experimenting with different skin tones, lighting and shadows, learn to paint portraits that will be cherished forever. All skill levels welcome.
1/2 sheet 300# cold press watercolor paper is my preference. Watercolor cold press pad or 1/2 sheet of 140# cold press will work .
140# sheet MUST be pre-stretched day before class.
Support board for paper, and a way to put at an angle.
Table easel if you have one – worth the small investment!
Paper towels, sharp pencil, sheet of gray graphite transfer paper, eraser, artist tape, containers for water
Various round brushes from #2 to #8.
Flat 3/4” brush
Not necessary but recommended: Masking fluid and ruling pen (I have pens for $10 available.) Tooth picks if no ruling pen.
Paints: Maroon Perylene, Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Light, Phthalo Blue, plus any other colors you have.
Bagged lunch and drinks to put in refrigerator.

TED HEAD BIO
Ted is a local artist who’s award-winning paintings have been featured in several national publications, including American Artist magazine. He is a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society, and is a popular instructor in workshops across the Southeast.
