Drawing Animals in Colored Pencils II

This class will introduce techniques for rendering a range of animals representationally and richly in colored pencil.  Artists will be shown techniques on how to block in their animals lightly using general shapes,  checking proportions and relationships before moving towards specificity.  Artists will be encouraged to use creme and light yellow early on in drawings before layering in a range of richer colors.  Emphasis will be placed on learning the differences between types of colored pencils, and experimenting with mixing colors to see how they react to one another, avoiding muddy results.  We will also focus on applying techniques for convincingly rendering fur and other textures.

Faber Castell Polychromos and Prismacolor colored pencils will be used by the instructor, and Strathmore mixed media paper will be used.

Class participants receive a
"SPECIAL 25% DISCOUNT" on all art supplies.
