This class gives the students an opportunity to complete 8 or more small paintings (no side over 12") in acrylic on paper or canvas while learning the basics of painting techniques, color mixing, composition, still life, botanical, floral, landscape, animals, etc. The class is open to beginning and experienced students.
Allison Watson has taught painting for 31 years and is on the teaching staff of the Cummer Museum and has had over 20 solo exhibitions and is in over 300 collections nationally.

Cadmium Yellow, Medium
Cadmium Red, Medium
Phalo (Phthalocyanine) Blue
Phalo (Phthalocyanine) Green
Burnt Sienna (optionalBRUSHES - SURFACES - SUPPLIES
Flats, Filberts, Brights, or Rounds in a variety of sizes from #3 to #12
(brushes can be for watercolor, oil or acrylics)
Large container for water
A variety of canvases, panel or stretched (12x14, 8x10, 6x8 for example)
Small sketch pad
White styrofoam or china plates or disposable palettes
Carry Box or bag for supplies
Charcoal and white chalk
Acrylic paint will be used in all demonstrations because of their versatility. Artists acrylic
paint can be used on a variety of surfaces and techniques. Students may use other mediums if they prefer. The basic supplies will be reviewed the first class so you may return unopened if necessary.
